Dual Xeon Gold 5415+ 2U server

The Dell PowerEdge R760 is a new 2U rack server built for enterprise workloads. It ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 5415+ processors running at 2.9 GHz with a 4.1 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 128 GB of DDR5-4800 ECC registered memory across eight modules. A PERC H965i controller with 8 GB NV cache manages the included four 960 GB SATA SSDs in the front bays.

Virtualization hosts and database clusters

This configuration suits teams deploying VMware, Hyper-V or Proxmox clusters that need high core density and fast local storage. The dual-socket design and 32 memory slots support growth to 8 TB of DDR5 for large memory footprints. Buyers who need more than sixteen 2.5-inch drive bays or who require GPU-accelerated AI training should evaluate alternative platforms. The quad-port 1 GbE OCP 3.0 adapter provides baseline connectivity for management and light traffic.

Sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays

The chassis offers sixteen front-accessible 2.5-inch bays that accept SAS, SATA and NVMe drives. The installed PERC H965i supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across these bays. Four 960 GB SATA SSDs are populated, leaving twelve bays open for expansion. Two redundant 1400 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC9 Datacenter complete the package.
