2U AI Server Chassis
The Dell PowerEdge R760xa is a 2U rack server built for AI training, inferencing, HPC and render farms. It ships without processors, memory or drives, letting integrators configure up to two Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs and 32 DDR5 slots for 8TB maximum capacity.
GPU Density Upgrade
This platform replaces general-purpose 2U servers that cannot fit double-wide accelerators. The jump is worth it when workloads demand four double-wide or twelve single-wide GPUs in a single rack unit, a density standard 2U designs cannot deliver.
Build Integration Needs
The chassis accepts up to eight 2.5-inch SAS/SATA/NVMe drives or six E3.S Gen5 NVMe devices at the front. Rear I/O provides a dedicated iDRAC Ethernet port, USB 2.0, USB 3.0 and VGA, while front service access adds iDRAC Direct Micro-AB USB and another USB 2.0.

Questions sur cet article
Does the R760xa fit a standard 2U rack opening?
Yes, the chassis is a 2U rack server and mounts in any standard 2U rack slot.
What is the correct order for installing the 12 single-wide GPUs and the two Xeon processors?
Install both Xeon processors first, then populate GPU risers from the lowest slot upward to ensure proper power and signal routing.
Which drive carriers must I replace when I move from 2.5-inch SAS drives to E3.S Gen5 NVMe drives?
Swap the 2.5-inch carriers for the E3.S-specific carriers; the backplane supports both form factors but the carriers are not interchangeable.
