The Dell EMC PowerEdge T440 is a 5U tower server designed for virtualization, database hosting and business-critical applications. It ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 5218 processors running at 2.3GHz with 3.9GHz turbo across 16 cores each. A total of 128GB DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory is installed across four 32GB modules. The system includes a PERC H730P 2GB storage controller and four 2.5-inch drive trays for hot-swap bays.

Storage Controller Limits

The PERC H730P 2GB controller supports SAS and SATA drives with RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. It provides 12Gb/s SAS connectivity to the sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays. No drives are installed, so capacity and performance depend entirely on the SAS or SATA media selected. The controller battery protects cached writes during power loss.

Installation Notes

The server arrives as a tower with an optional rack conversion kit available separately. Redundant 750W platinum power supplies are hot-swap for maintenance without downtime. iDRAC 9 Express provides remote management out of the box.
