Dual 10-Core Xeon Server for Virtualisation

The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U rack server fitted with two Intel Xeon Silver 4210 processors, each running at 2.2 GHz with a 3.2 GHz turbo frequency. The 256 GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory is spread across eight 32 GB modules, leaving eight DIMM slots free for expansion up to 1 TB. It targets organisations running VMware ESXi, Hyper-V or Proxmox clusters that need strong multi-threaded compute density in a single chassis.

PERC H730P Controller and 16-Bay Flexibility

The included PERC H730P RAID controller brings 2 GB of cache and a battery backup, supporting RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode for software-defined storage stacks. Four 2.5-inch drive trays ship with the unit, while the front panel accommodates up to sixteen hot-swap bays for SAS, SATA or SSD media. Dual embedded Gigabit Ethernet ports and iDRAC 9 Express provide out-of-band management and network connectivity without extra cards.

Rack Mounting Requires Optional Kit

The server arrives as a tower chassis; rack deployment needs the separate Dell conversion kit, so allow extra planning time if you intend to mount it in a standard cabinet. Two hot-swap 750 W platinum power supplies deliver redundancy, but the front bezel and ready rails are not included and must be sourced separately if required. Memory and CPU sockets are fully populated to the dual-socket maximum, so future processor upgrades are not possible without replacing the existing Silver 4210 modules.
