Precision T7910 single-CPU workstation

This Dell Precision T7910 tower arrives new with a single Intel Xeon E5-2640 v4 ten-core processor running at 2.4 GHz. Eight gigabytes of DDR4 ECC memory and a 500 GB 7.2K RPM SATA drive are installed. The NVIDIA NVS 310 graphics card provides 512 MB of video memory and dual DisplayPort outputs. No operating system is included.

Verify memory slots and drive bay needs

The chassis contains sixteen DDR4 DIMM slots, eight of which are wired to the installed CPU socket LGA 2011-3. Four 3.5-inch SATA bays and support for up to four M.2 PCIe SSDs are available; an optional PCIe controller is required for RAID 5. Integrated LSI SAS 3008 and Intel SATA controllers handle storage connectivity. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports use Intel I217 and I210 controllers.

1300 W supply and rack-ready dimensions

A 1300 W 90 percent efficient power supply with active power factor correction powers the system. The tower measures 21.5 inches deep, 8.5 inches wide and 17.2 inches high, weighing 50 lbs. A DVD-RW drive occupies one external bay. Dual DisplayPort connectors on the NVS 310 support two monitors directly. Buyers who need a second CPU, more than 512 MB of graphics memory or an operating system pre-installed should look elsewhere.
