Designed for spacious builds

The Fractal Design North XL is a full-tower chassis built from steel with a charcoal black finish and walnut front accents. It supports ATX, E-ATX, Micro ATX and Mini ITX motherboards and ships with three 140 mm Aspect PWM fans pre-installed at the front. The open front and ventilated mesh side panel promote natural airflow for a wide range of high-performance components.

Thermals and acoustics at idle

Nine 120 mm or eight 140 mm fan mounts are available across the front, top, rear and side bracket, with front mounts accepting 120 mm or 140 mm fans and top mounts adding 180 mm options. A front dust filter helps keep the interior clean while the included PWM fans run quietly at low speeds during light workloads. The bottom-mounted ATX power supply position isolates heat from the main chamber.

Sustained load behaviour

Under heavy load the case can accommodate a front radiator up to 420 mm or 360 mm and a top radiator up to 360 mm or 280 mm, while the rear supports 120 mm or 140 mm units with the side bracket lowered. Graphics cards up to 413 mm fit with a front fan installed, or 380 mm when a 420 mm front radiator is used. Removable side, front and top panels provide straightforward access for maintenance during extended sessions.
