sWRX8 workstation motherboard for Threadripper PRO
This GIGABYTE board uses the AMD WRX80 chipset and the sWRX8 4094 socket to support AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3000WX processors. Eight DDR4 channels accept up to eight registered ECC DIMMs at 3200, 2933 or 2600 speeds. Seven PCIe 4.0 x16 slots provide expansion capacity for multi-GPU or accelerator configurations.
Eight-channel DDR4 limits and storage interfaces
Registered ECC DDR4 RDIMMs are required; unbuffered or non-ECC modules will not work. The eight-channel architecture delivers maximum bandwidth only when all eight slots are populated with matching sticks. Two M.2 sockets accept 2242 or 2280 drives in PCIe 4.0 x4 or SATA mode, while three slimSAS connectors add further PCIe 4.0 x4 or SATA pathways.
Seven PCIe 4.0 x16 slots decide GPU density
The seven full-length PCIe 4.0 x16 slots are the single specification that determines how many double-width graphics cards or compute accelerators can be installed simultaneously. Each slot is wired for x16 electrical connectivity from the chipset and CPU lanes, enabling full bandwidth for every occupied slot.
