Z370 chipset for 8th Gen Intel Core
This ATX motherboard uses the Intel Z370 chipset and the LGA 1151 socket limited to 300 Series processors. It accepts 8th Generation Core i7, i5 and i3 CPUs only and will not work with earlier LGA 1151 chips. Four 288pin DDR4 slots support up to 64GB in dual channel mode. The board targets builders who want a mainstream platform with overclocking headroom for 8th Gen CPUs.
Sustained load with Smart Fan 5 cooling
The VRM area and chipset are managed by Smart Fan 5 headers that adjust speed based on multiple onboard temperature sensors. Under prolonged heavy CPU or memory loads the fan curves ramp gradually to keep component temperatures stable without sudden noise spikes. Six SATA 6Gb/s ports and one M.2 Socket 3 M key connector handle storage traffic continuously at rated speeds. The Intel GbE LAN chip maintains 1Gbps throughput during long transfers.
ATX layout with standard mounting and clear I/O
The board follows the ATX form factor with standard screw holes that align with common chassis standoffs. Back I/O includes HDMI, DVI-D, PS/2 combo, two USB 2.0/1.1 and four USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A ports. Installers sometimes forget that the DVI-D port does not accept a D-Sub adapter, so a native DVI-D or HDMI display cable is required. The single full-length PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot and two x4 slots leave enough room for dual-slot graphics cards when populated correctly.
