Sustained workload behaviour

The i5-9500 runs at a 3.00 GHz base frequency and can reach 4.40 GHz turbo when thermal headroom allows. Under continuous multi-threaded load the Small Form Factor cooling will throttle clocks to stay within its power envelope, so extended compiles or large dataset processing run slower than short bursts. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 handles 4K video playback and dual DisplayPort monitors but is not suited for 3D rendering or GPU compute tasks. Buyers who need sustained high clock speeds or discrete graphics should consider a larger chassis.

Build, connectors and daily use

The black SFF case offers DisplayPort video outputs, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, plus a Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 jack for wired networking. A built-in Wi-Fi card adds wireless connectivity without occupying a USB port.
