Dense 1U rack server

The HP ProLiant DL360 G9 fits a single Xeon E5-2643 v3 six-core processor at 3.4 GHz with 32 GB DDR4 ECC memory into a 1U chassis. Two 1 TB 7.2K SATA drives connect to the B140i software RAID controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. The Matrox G200 GPU handles basic console output for headless or remote management deployments.

Redundant power and thermal headroom

Dual hot-swap 500 W power supplies provide N+1 redundancy while the 1U form factor relies on high-speed system fans to move air across the CPU heatsinks and drive bays. Under typical loads the power draw stays well within the redundant pair capacity, and fan curves ramp only when inlet temperatures rise or both processors are fully loaded.

Eight SFF bays and expansion limits

The front panel exposes eight 2.5-inch SFF bays, two of which are occupied by the installed drives; the remaining six accept additional SATA or SAS media with included trays. Memory expansion uses 24 DDR4 DIMM slots, twelve per processor socket, though the installed configuration already reaches the 32 GB maximum stated for this unit. A second processor kit would unlock the remaining slots and double the core count to twelve physical cores.
