The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 packs dual Xeon E5-2670 v3 processors with 12 cores each at 2.3 GHz, 32 GB of DDR4 ECC memory and two 600 GB 15K SAS drives behind an H240ar controller. It targets workloads that need high thread density and fast local storage in a single rack unit. Redundant 500 W hot-swap supplies keep the platform running during a power-module failure.

Compatibility checks

Verify that your rack provides 1U of vertical space and standard square-hole mounting rails. The server uses DDR4 registered ECC DIMMs only; other DDR generations will not fit. The H240ar controller presents SAS and SATA drives to the operating system, so confirm your OS includes or can load the appropriate driver. No operating system is included with the unit.

Build and daily implications

A Matrox G200 chip handles basic video output for console access. Eight 2.5-inch SFF bays sit behind the front bezel; two are occupied by the supplied 15K drives and the remaining six accept additional SAS or SATA drives with included trays. Hot-swap power and drive bays allow component replacement without shutting down the server. The 24 DIMM slots support up to 3 TB of memory when fully populated.
