Eight gigabytes of DDR4 ECC memory are installed across 24 slots, leaving headroom for large memory expansions. Two 300 GB 15K SAS drives and an H240ar controller give immediate storage redundancy options.

Thermals and power draw

Redundant hot-swap 500 W power supplies share the load and keep the system running if one unit fails. The 1U chassis uses high-speed fans that ramp with CPU temperature, so noise rises under sustained compute tasks. Typical idle draw is modest for dual-socket density, while full load on 24 cores will increase both power consumption and acoustic output.

Build and daily operation

Four 3.5-inch LFF drive bays are accessible from the front, allowing drive swaps without tools or server removal. The H240ar supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, so arrays can be rebuilt while the server stays online. Matrox G200 graphics provide basic video for installation and remote management consoles.
