The installed 128GB matches the maximum addressable capacity when only one processor is fitted, because each CPU provides 12 memory channels. Adding a second Xeon E5-2600 v3 or v4 processor would unlock the remaining 12 DIMM slots and raise the ceiling to 3TB. Organisations planning future memory expansion must budget for the second CPU to use the empty slots.
