The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 packs a single Intel Xeon E5-2640 v3 eight-core processor at 2.6 GHz and 32 GB of DDR4 ECC memory into a 1U chassis. Four 3.5-inch 1 TB SAS drives connect through the Smart HBA H240ar controller with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 support. The platform targets virtualisation, database and file-serving roles where rack density matters.

Sustained load behaviour

With one CPU installed the server offers eight physical cores and sixteen threads via Hyper-Threading, while the chipset supports a second processor for up to thirty-six total cores. Memory runs at up to 2400 MT/s depending on the processor capability, and the twenty-four DIMM slots allow expansion to 3 TB when both sockets are populated. The 7.2 K RPM SAS drives deliver consistent throughput for sequential workloads rather than burst-oriented IOPS.
