Dense 1U compute node

The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2640 v3 eight-core processor running at 2.6 GHz into a 1U rack chassis. Ninety-six gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory occupy half of the twenty-four DIMM slots, leaving room for future expansion. Two 1 TB 7.2 K SAS drives sit in two of the four large-form-factor bays, managed by the Smart HBA H240ar controller. The platform targets workloads that need dense, reliable compute without a full-height footprint.

Dual redundant power and open bays

Two hot-swap 500 W power supplies share the load so a single failure does not interrupt operation. The H240ar presents twelve-gigabit SAS and six-gigabit SATA paths to the backplane, enabling RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across the installed drives and any additions. Two empty 3.5-inch bays remain available for capacity growth, and a second processor socket can double core count when the workload demands it. No operating system is included, so the installer chooses the hypervisor or OS that matches the environment.

Sustained throughput for multi-threaded loads

Eight physical cores with hyper-threading expose sixteen logical threads that keep pipelines full during extended batch, virtualization or database jobs. DDR4 memory runs up to 2400 MT/s per processor capability, feeding data without the stalls seen in smaller configurations. The SAS drives deliver steady 6 Gbps sequential bandwidth suited to logging, backup targets or shared storage volumes. Redundant cooling and power keep thermals stable so performance does not throttle during multi-hour runs.
