The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rackmount system built for space-constrained data centres. It ships with a single twelve-core Intel Xeon E5-2670v3 running at 2.3 GHz and 4 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. Eight 146 GB 15K 2.5-inch SAS drives are installed behind the Smart HBA H240ar controller, which supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 500 W hot-swap power supplies provide redundancy.

Suits virtualisation hosts, not GPU workloads

This configuration fits teams that need dense compute and fast local storage for virtual machines or databases in a single rack unit. Buyers who want more storage bays, a second processor installed, or a graphics accelerator should look at something else. The Matrox G200 GPU only serves basic display output and cannot accelerate compute tasks. No operating system is included, so software licensing must be arranged separately.

Slide-in rails, then populate DIMMs

The 1U chassis mounts on standard rack rails and the hot-swap drive trays lock in without tools. Adding memory means opening the lid and seating DDR4 ECC registered modules in the twenty-four slots, twelve per processor socket. A common mistake is mixing module capacities or speeds across channels, which can prevent the system from posting at the rated 2400 MT/s.
