The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 fits standard 2U racks and targets environments that need dense compute with redundant power. A single Xeon E5-2630 v3 eight-core processor at 2.4 GHz provides 16 threads for virtualised workloads, databases or general-purpose applications. The chassis supports a second processor when demand grows.

Sustained-load behaviour

Dual 500 W hot-swap supplies keep the system running if one unit fails, allowing continuous operation during maintenance. The Smart Array P440 controller with 4 GB flash-backed write cache absorbs write bursts and protects in-flight data during power loss. Two 600 GB 15 K SAS drives deliver consistent IOPS for transactional workloads without the latency spikes seen on slower spindles.

Build and connectivity

Twenty-four SFF drive bays and 24 DDR4 DIMM slots give room to scale storage and memory independently. The Matrox G200eH2 graphics chip handles basic console output without occupying a PCIe slot.
