5×3.5" SATA hot-swap cage

The ICY DOCK MB155SP-B fits five 3.5" SATA hard drives into three 5.25" device bays. A full-metal backplane and 92mm fan deliver direct airflow across all drives. Each bay uses a 15-pin SATA power connector and a 7-pin SATA data port. Hot-swap trays allow drive changes without powering down the system.

Server builders and dense storage users

This unit suits administrators who need maximum 3.5" density in limited 5.25" space and want hardware hot-swap capability. Builders using 2.5" drives, SAS-only backplanes, or enclosures without 5.25" bays cannot install this cage. Systems requiring tool-less tray ejection or single-drive power control will not find those features here.

6 Gbps SATA backplane speed

The backplane supports SATA I, II and III at up to 6 Gbps per drive. SAS 3.0 single-channel operation up to 12 Gbps is also supported. Drive throughput is limited by the SATA interface and the host controller, not by the cage itself.
