The ICY DOCK ToughArmor MB602SPO-B fits a single external 5.25" bay and holds two 2.5" SAS or SATA SSDs and HDDs up to 15 mm thick plus one 12.7 mm slim or 9.5 mm ultra-slim optical drive. Its full-metal chassis and anti-vibration trays are built for industrial, military, medical and in-vehicle systems. A user-configurable 40 mm fan and ventilation holes keep temperatures in check.

Suited for hot-swap SATA

This unit serves builders who need two hot-swappable 2.5" drives and an optical drive in one rugged enclosure with individual status LEDs. It does not serve buyers who require more than two drive bays, support for drives thicker than 15 mm, or interfaces other than SATA and SAS.

Requires a SAS host for SAS drives

Each drive connects through a SATA I/II/III or SAS 6 Gb/s backplane, but SAS drives will only operate when the system provides a SAS host connection; a SATA-only host will not activate them.
