The Lexar NM790 is a 1TB internal solid state drive built for gamers, professionals and creators who need fast storage. It uses the M.2 2280 form factor and connects through a PCI-Express 4.0 x4 interface with NVMe protocol. Sequential read speeds reach up to 7400 MBps and write speeds up to 6500 MBps. The drive is also validated for PlayStation 5 expansion.

Single-sided M.2 2280 installation

The single-sided M.2 2280 design fits directly into compatible motherboard slots or laptop bays without extra cables. No heatsink is included, so thermal performance depends on the host device’s own cooling solution. Host Memory Buffer 3.0 enables the system DRAM to assist caching for smoother transfers. Ensure the motherboard or laptop BIOS supports PCIe 4.0 NVMe drives to avoid detection issues.

1TB capacity for games and workloads

One terabyte provides room for large game libraries, creative project files and operating system drives. The 1000 TBW endurance rating supports heavy daily write workloads over the drive’s lifetime. Power draw is up to 40 percent lower than DRAM-cache Gen 4 SSDs, helping laptop battery life. When the SLC cache fills during sustained writes, speeds will drop to the native TLC rate.
