This micro-ATX motherboard uses the Intel B360 chipset and the LGA 1151 (300 Series) socket. It accepts 8th Generation Intel Core processors and is not backward compatible with older LGA 1151 CPUs. Four 288-pin DDR4 slots operate in dual-channel mode and top out at 64 GB of system memory. This limit defines the maximum RAM the platform can address and therefore decides whether the board suits a given workload. Exceeding this capacity is not possible on the B360 chipset, so buyers with larger memory requirements must choose a different chipset.
