The MSI MPG Z390 GAMING PRO CARBON is an ATX motherboard built around the Intel Z390 chipset and the LGA 1151 (300 series) socket. It accepts 9th and 8th generation Core, Pentium Gold and Celeron processors. Four 288-pin DDR4 slots support up to 128 GB in dual-channel mode with a long list of overclocked speeds.

VRM heatsinks and fan headers manage heat

Extended heatsinks cover the power delivery area to keep VRM temperatures down during sustained loads. Multiple fan headers allow the builder to tune airflow for quiet operation or maximum cooling. The board draws power through standard ATX and EPS connectors without extra requirements.

Dual M.2 and six SATA share bandwidth

Two Key M M.2 slots accept 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 drives running at PCIe 3.0 x4 or SATA 6 Gb/s. Six SATA 6 Gb/s ports are also provided, though M.2 and SATA share bandwidth. Three PCIe 3.0 x16 slots support x16/x0/x4 or x8/x8/x4 modes, plus three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots for add-in cards.
