128GB DDR4 ECC LRDIMM for HP ProLiant

This module is a single 128GB DDR4 3200 ECC Load Reduced DIMM built for HP ProLiant DL385 Gen10 Plus, DL385 Gen10 Plus v2, DX360 Gen10 Plus and DX385 Gen10 Plus servers. It uses a 288-pin form factor with 4Rx4 organisation and CL22 latency. It is not compatible with standard desktop computers or with unbuffered or registered ECC memory.

Thermals noise and power

Operating at 1.2V, the module runs within standard DDR4 server voltage limits. No heat spreader is fitted, so airflow across the DIMM slots handles cooling. Load Reduced architecture reduces electrical load on the memory bus, helping keep power draw predictable under sustained workloads.

Build fit and capacity planning

The 288-pin LRDIMM slots directly into the supported ProLiant platforms and is backward compatible with 2133, 2400, 2666 and 2933MHz bus speeds. A single module delivers 128GB, freeing remaining slots for further expansion. It replaces HP part numbers P06037-B21, P06037-H21, P06037-K21, P43171-B21, P07652-B21, P07652-H21 and P25206-B21. Buyers needing unbuffered or registered ECC memory cannot use this module.

Questions sur cet article

How do I install this 288-pin DDR4 3200 LRDIMM in an HP ProLiant DL385 Gen10 Plus, and what step is often missed?

Power down the server, open the chassis, align the notch on the 288-pin module with the slot key, press firmly until both ejectors click, then verify in BIOS that the 128GB 4Rx4 module is recognised at 3200 MT/s. The step often missed is confirming the memory mode matches the load-reduced rank configuration.

What maintenance or replacement will this 128GB ECC load-reduced module need over its service life?

The module itself has no user-serviceable parts and requires no periodic maintenance. ECC corrects single-bit errors on the fly; if uncorrectable errors accumulate, the server management log will flag the DIMM for replacement. Keep firmware current to maintain compatibility with the 4Rx4 organisation.

What is the first limit that appears when this CL22 1.2V LRDIMM runs sustained workloads on a DL385 Gen10 Plus v2?

The CAS latency of 22 cycles at 3200 MT/s sets the baseline access delay. Under sustained heavy load the memory controller’s thermal throttling or the 1.2V power envelope typically becomes the limiting factor before the module’s own timing constraints.
