M.2 NVMe enclosure for USB-C 20 Gbps

The SIIG JU-SA0X11-S1 accepts a single M-key PCIe NVMe SSD in 2230, 2242, 2260 or 2280 form factors. It connects through a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C port and delivers up to 20 Gbps when paired with a compatible host controller. The ASMedia 2364 chipset handles the PCIe 3.0 x 4 to USB translation. No SATA M.2 drives are supported.

Aluminium shell with bus power and thermal pad

The silver aluminium body measures 0.59 by 4.84 by 1.81 inches and weighs 0.25 lb. Power comes entirely from the USB-C bus at 5 V, so no external adapter is needed. A thermal pad is included to conduct heat from the drive to the enclosure surface. UASP and hot-plug are both supported for everyday attach and detach cycles.

Upgrade from USB 3.1 or 3.0 enclosures

Builders moving from a 10 Gbps or 5 Gbps enclosure gain the full 20 Gbps ceiling when the host side also supports USB 3.2 Gen 2x2. The jump is worthwhile for large sequential transfers such as video offload or disk imaging. Users whose ports top out at 10 Gbps will see no speed benefit over a Gen 2 enclosure.
