The Western Digital Elements drive provides four terabytes of add-on capacity in a compact desktop form factor. It connects through a USB 3.0 Micro-B interface and arrives formatted NTFS for Windows 10, 8.1 and 7. The unit is ready for immediate plug-and-play use on compatible PCs.

Build integration and connectivity

The drive requires an AC adapter and the supplied USB cable, so a free mains socket and a USB 3.0 or 2.0 port are needed. It frees space on the internal boot drive by offloading photos, music, videos and large files. Reformatting is required before use with operating systems other than Windows.
