10Gtek dual-port 10 GbE NIC

This PCIe x4 network card uses an Intel X550-AT2 controller to provide two copper RJ45 ports. It targets servers and desktops that need 10 GbE connectivity over twisted-pair cabling. The adapter ships with both a standard and a low-profile bracket for flexible installation.

PCIe 3.0 x4 lane and speed negotiation

The card operates on a PCI Express 3.0 x4 interface (8.0 GT/s) and is backward compatible with 2.0 and 1.1 slots. It supports 100M, 1G, 2.5G, 5G and 10G link speeds, though 2.5G and 5G may require manual configuration if auto-negotiation fails. Hot-swap is not supported.

No firmware updates and OS limits

The Intel X550-AT2 controller on this board does not accept firmware updates. Compatibility includes Windows Server 2008 and 2012, Linux, FreeBSD 9 and 10, UEFI 2.1 and 2.3, and VMware ESXi 5.1 and 5.5 with limited functionality. It is not compatible with OPNsense v25.7.3 based on FreeBSD 14.3.
