Eight hot-plug 2.5-inch 300 GB 15K SAS drives and a PERC H330 RAID controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60 provide high-speed local storage, while a redundant 550 W power supply and iDRAC8 remote management keep the platform serviceable in dense data-centre rows.

Fits memory-bound workloads, not storage-heavy ones

This server suits virtualization hosts, database nodes or HPC clusters that need many cores and fast spindle drives in minimal rack space. Buyers who need more than 16 GB of RAM, more than eight drive bays, additional PCIe 3.0 slots beyond the two provided, or 10 GbE connectivity should evaluate other chassis. The single DVD-ROM and Matrox G200 graphics are adequate for installation and basic console access only.
