The Dell PowerEdge R430 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2650v3 ten-core processor running at 2.3GHz with 48GB of DDR4 memory into a 1U chassis. It targets organisations that need a high core count in minimal rack space for virtualisation, database or web-tier workloads. The platform supports a second processor and up to 384GB of memory across twelve DIMM slots when the workload grows.

Redundant 550W supply with hot-swap drives

A single 550W redundant power supply feeds the system while eight 2.5-inch hot-plug bays allow drive changes without downtime. Three factory-installed 300GB 15K SAS drives provide fast spindle storage for the operating system or active data sets. The H330 controller manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60 across SAS or SATA media.

iDRAC8 remote management and expansion slots

Integrated iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller gives out-of-band console access, firmware updates and hardware inventory from any browser. Two PCIe 3.0 slots accept additional network adapters, storage controllers or GPU accelerators. A DVD-ROM drive and power cable are included; rail kit, bezel and empty drive trays are not supplied.
