This 2U PowerEdge R530 fits standard racks and ships with redundant 750W hot-swap supplies. A single Xeon E5-2630 V3 at 2.4GHz delivers eight cores and sixteen threads for virtualization hosts, database nodes or file servers. iDRAC8 Express provides out-of-band management from day one.

300GB 15K SAS pair with H730 headroom

Two 300GB 15K 6Gbps SAS drives give fast spindle performance for OS and active data. The H730 1GB 12Gbps controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across up to eight 3.5" hot-plug bays. Installed 16GB DDR4 uses two of twelve DIMM slots; the platform accepts up to 384GB when a second processor is added.

Expansion space and connectivity

Five PCIe slots — three 3.0 and two 2.0 — accommodate HBAs, NICs or GPU accelerators. A four-port 1GbE daughter card handles baseline networking. Matrox G200eR2 video covers console access. The chassis includes rails and a power cable; a second CPU kit and additional memory modules are required to unlock the full 384GB capacity and second processor socket.
