The PowerEdge R650xs is a 1U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon Gold 6330 processors. Each CPU runs at 2.0 GHz with a 3.1 GHz turbo and provides 28 cores, giving the system 56 cores total for virtualization, dense analytics or cloud workloads.

256 GB DDR4 and eight 960 GB SSDs

Installed memory is 256 GB of DDR4 2933 MHz registered ECC across eight 32 GB modules, with headroom to 1 TB across 16 slots. Storage uses a PERC H745 controller with 4 GB NV cache driving eight 960 GB SATA SSDs in RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60.

SATA and OCP 3.0 interface limits

The SATA 6 Gb/s drive interface caps sequential throughput well below NVMe speeds, so workloads needing extreme IOPS will hit a ceiling. The dual-port 10 GbE SFP+ OCP 3.0 adapter provides 10 Gb/s network bandwidth, which can become the bottleneck before CPU or memory saturates.
