The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 fits a standard 1U rack slot while delivering dual Xeon E5-2643 v3 processors at 3.4 GHz. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 ECC memory and two 1 TB SATA drives come installed, giving a ready-to-run platform for virtualisation, databases or web tiers. The B140i controller provides software RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 across the SATA drives. Two hot-swap 500 W power supplies add redundancy without extra cabling.

Eight small-form-factor bays accept 2.5-inch SATA drives or SSDs, and the chassis supports up to 24 DIMM slots for a maximum of 16 GB per module. The Intel C610 chipset handles I/O while the Matrox G200 supplies basic video for management consoles. Redundant power supplies share the load, freeing the builder from single-point failure concerns. No operating system is included, so the installer chooses the hypervisor or OS.
