Dual Xeon Gold 6136 tower workstation

The HP Z8 G4 tower ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 6136 processors, each running at 3.00 GHz with twelve cores. Twenty-four physical cores and forty-eight threads handle design, rendering, engineering and data-heavy workloads. Ninety-six gigabytes of DDR4 ECC memory fill the maximum supported capacity across twenty-four DIMM slots. A 1 TB NVMe SSD on a PCIe adapter card provides the primary boot and application drive.

NVIDIA Quadro P4000 and Windows 10 Pro

The installed NVIDIA Quadro P4000 graphics card brings 8 GB of GDDR5 memory and four Mini DisplayPort 1.4 outputs for multi-display CAD and content-creation setups. Windows 10 Professional 64-bit is pre-installed for an out-of-box experience. The chassis includes a DVD+/-RW drive in a dedicated 9.5 mm slim bay and four internal 3.5-inch bays with acoustic dampening rails for additional SATA storage.

Expansion slots and power before ordering

Slot 1 runs at PCIe Gen3 x4 and converts to x8 when the second CPU is present; Slots 2 and 4 are full Gen3 x16, while Slot 3 becomes available only with the second processor installed. Four 6+2-pin graphics power cables are included for up to four full-length cards. The 1125 W power supply is not redundant and does not support hot-swap replacement.
