The HPE BL460c G10 blade server fits two Xeon Platinum 8158 processors, each with 12 cores at 3.0 GHz, into a half-height form factor. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory support dense virtualisation or container clusters. Two 300 GB 10K SAS drives connect through a Smart Array P204i-b SR controller for local OS or scratch space.

Thermals and power in a shared enclosure

Cooling and power are supplied by the c-Class enclosure, so the blade itself adds no standalone fans or power supplies. The integrated 20 Gb FlexFabric adapter handles network traffic without extra PCIe cards, keeping slot count and cable bulk low. iLO Advanced remote management runs independently of the host operating system for out-of-band control.

Half-height constraint and enclosure dependence

The half-height 2.5-inch drive bays limit internal storage to two devices, so large local data sets need external arrays. Full enclosure infrastructure — power, cooling, interconnects — is mandatory; the blade cannot operate on a bench. Buyers who need more than two internal drives or standalone rack-mount operation should look at full-height or rack servers instead.
