The Netgear RAX5-100PAS is a dual-band wireless router built on the Wi-Fi 6 standard. It delivers a maximum theoretical throughput of 1.6Gbps across four spatial streams. The router is intended for households up to 1,500 sq. ft. with up to 20 connected devices.

Simple browser or app setup

Installation is guided through a web browser or the Nighthawk app using a phone or computer with Chrome or Safari. The unit provides five Gigabit Ethernet ports — one WAN and four LAN — for wired connections. A common issue is forgetting to connect the WAN port to a modem that has an RJ45 connector.

Verify broadband modem

You need an active broadband internet service such as DSL, cable or fibre. The modem must present an RJ45 Ethernet port for the router WAN link. Client devices should support Wi-Fi 5 or earlier for backward compatibility, while Wi-Fi 6 clients will use the full feature set.
