Four SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports
The SIIG JU-P40412-S1 adds four external USB 3.0 Type-A ports to a desktop computer through a PCI Express 2.0 slot. It uses a Renesas UPD720201 host controller and draws auxiliary power from a 15-pin SATA connector. The card supports Windows operating systems from XP through 8 and Server 2003 through 2008 R2 in both 32-bit and 64-bit editions.
Fits a full-height PCIe slot and needs SATA power
Installation requires an available full-height PCI Express expansion slot and a spare SATA power connector from the supply. The bracket measures 2.76 inches wide by 4.72 inches deep and weighs 0.12 lbs. By providing dedicated 3.0 bandwidth per port, the adapter frees up existing motherboard headers for other internal connections while adding high-speed external capacity.
