1.8" mSATA to SATA Adapter

This adapter converts a 1.8-inch mSATA solid state drive into a standard SATA device using a 7+15 pin interface. A matched SATA to USB 2.0 cable is included for direct external connection to a computer without internal installation. The board uses a control chip for stable signal transmission and supports hot-plug operation. It works with Windows, Mac OS and Linux systems without extra drivers.

Upgrades from internal mSATA slot

The converter lets you access data from an older 1.8-inch mSATA SSD when the original laptop or device no longer functions or lacks a compatible slot. It replaces the need for a working mSATA motherboard header by providing both internal SATA and external USB pathways. The jump is worth it when you need to recover files, clone the drive or repurpose the SSD as portable storage without fitting it inside a case.

Capacity limited by drive and USB 2.0

The adapter handles whatever capacity the installed 1.8-inch mSATA SSD provides, passing data through the SATA interface at native drive speed. Through the supplied USB 2.0 cable, sustained transfer rates are capped by the USB 2.0 bus, so large backups or disk images will take longer than over internal SATA. It does not support 2.5-inch mSATA drives or any M.2 NVMe or SATA SSDs.
