Registered ECC DDR4-2400 limits

The modules run at 2400 MHz with CL17 latency at 1.2 V and use a dual-rank 2Rx4 organisation. Registered ECC memory cannot be mixed with unbuffered or load-reduced DIMMs; all installed sticks must share the same ECC type. If faster or slower modules are added, the system clock drops to the slowest speed present.

288-pin DIMMs without heat spreaders

Each stick is a standard 288-pin DDR4 DIMM without a heat spreader, so it fits the tight DIMM slots found in 1U and 2U rack chassis. The registered buffer adds a clock cycle of latency but reduces electrical load on the memory controller, allowing the full four-module population per channel that these servers support.
