AM4 X470 ATX motherboard

The ASUS Prime X470-Pro is an ATX board built around the AMD X470 chipset and AM4 socket. It accepts Ryzen 2nd Generation, Ryzen 1st Generation, Ryzen with Radeon Vega Graphics and 7th Generation A-series or Athlon X4 processors. Four 288-pin DDR4 slots support up to 64 GB in dual-channel mode.

Steel-reinforced slots and rear I/O

The primary PCIe 3.0 x16 slot uses a metal brace for heavier graphics cards. A second PCIe 3.0 x16 slot runs at x8, joined by a PCIe 2.0 x16 slot at x4 and three PCIe 2.0 x1 slots. Storage includes six SATA 6Gb/s ports and one M.2 Socket 3 M-key slot for 2242, 2260, 2280 or 22110 drives in SATA or PCIe 3.0 x4 mode. Rear I/O provides HDMI 1.4b, DisplayPort, USB 3.1 Gen 1, USB 3.1 Gen 2 and USB-C Gen1 alongside Intel i211AT Gigabit LAN.

Fan headers and 8-channel audio

Multiple 4-pin hybrid fan headers let the board balance CPU and chassis airflow under load. The Realtek S1220A codec with Crystal Sound 3 drives 8-channel high-definition audio. Onboard video outputs require a compatible APU and max out at 4096 x 2160 at 24 Hz over HDMI or 2560 x 1600 at 60 Hz over DisplayPort.
