Sustained load behaviour
Registered ECC buffering reduces electrical load on the memory controller during continuous operation. The supplier notes that DDR3-1333 modules clock down to 1066MHz or 800MHz depending on the Xeon model and bank population. Quad-rank DIMMs in the first triple-channel bank run at 1066MHz; adding them to a second bank drops speed to 800MHz.
