The Dell 400-AEEC is a 300 GB 2.5-inch internal hard drive that spins at 10000 RPM and connects through a SAS 6Gb/s interface. Fits 2.5-inch SAS bays with 6Gb/s controllers

This drive slides into any 2.5-inch SAS drive bay wired to a 6Gb/s backplane or controller card. Because it is not hot-swappable, the host must be shut down for installation, freeing the administrator from managing live-insertion hardware. The 10000 RPM spindle speed delivers quicker access times than slower nearline drives in the same slot.

No tray or software included

The unit ships as a bare drive without a mounting tray, caddy or proprietary management software. Integrators must supply their own 2.5-inch SAS carrier compatible with the target chassis. No additional utilities or firmware packages are bundled, so standard operating-system drivers handle the device.
