The adapter only exposes four independent x4 links when the host platform supports PCIe bifurcation set to x4, x4, x4, x4 on the x16 slot. Without this firmware setting, the motherboard will not present all four drives to the operating system. Buyers must verify their motherboard or server BIOS provides this bifurcation option before purchase. No onboard bridge or PLX switching is present to compensate for missing bifurcation.

Active cooling with fan on/off switch
