Controller cache interface limits

The upgrade connects through the RAID controller's internal cache slot, so throughput is bound by that interface. Performance scales with the controller's own processing ability and the existing cache configuration. No external cabling or separate power is required for the module itself.

4 GB capacity and headroom

The 4 GB addition doubles the cache from 4 GB to 8 GB where the base configuration matches. This extra headroom absorbs larger write bursts and sustains read prefetch during heavier workloads. Once the 8 GB total is filled, the controller must flush to disk, so extremely sustained random writes will still hit the backend spindle or SSD speed.
