Universal Drive Adapter

The LUOM SA28 connects any standard 2.5in or 3.5in SATA or IDE hard drive to a computer through a USB 3.0 port. It also supports DVD-ROM, CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD-RW and DVD+RW optical drives. The adapter is compatible with Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Chrome OS. No driver installation is required for plug-and-play operation.

Build Integration

A USB 3.0 port on the host system is needed for full 5Gbps transfer speed, with backward compatibility to USB 2.0 and 1.1. The included 12V DC power supply is required for 3.5in drives, while 2.5in drives can often run from bus power. A 4-pin power cable is provided for 3.5in IDE devices. LED indicators show power and activity status.

Capacity and Headroom

Drives up to 6TB are supported for data transfer, backup and cloning tasks. The adapter handles SATA III speeds through its USB 3.0 interface, reaching up to 5Gbps. Actual throughput depends on the connected drive and host controller. Older IDE drives may require jumper configuration for master or slave selection before use.
