The Synology RS2423+ is a 12-bay rackmount network-attached storage system designed for small and medium businesses needing centralised file management and sharing. It arrives fully assembled and tested with twelve 16TB Synology Enterprise drives installed, providing 192TB of raw capacity. The unit includes 32GB of Synology RAM and a 1.6TB Synology cache via an M2D20 adapter with two 800GB drives. An AMD Ryzen processor powers the platform.

Sustained throughput of 3,500 MB/s read

Under sustained load the system delivers up to 3,500 MB/s sequential read and 1,700 MB/s sequential write throughput. Random performance reaches over 155K read IOPS and 79K write IOPS. The 1.6TB cache layer accelerates frequent access patterns while dual 1GbE ports with Link Aggregation and Failover plus a single 10GbE port maintain bandwidth during prolonged transfers. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 35°C.

Before ordering confirm that your rack can accommodate a 2U form factor measuring 88mm high, 482mm wide and 552mm deep. The unit weighs 11.5kg without drives so allow for the additional mass of twelve 16TB drives. Ensure the site provides 100-240 VAC at 50/60Hz and that your network switches support the desired 1GbE or 10GbE connections. Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports are available for external backup targets.
