The Synology RS3626xs is a 2U rackmount storage server populated with twelve 12 TB enterprise drives for 144 TB raw capacity. A 6-core Intel Xeon D-1726 processor and 48 GB of DDR4 ECC memory drive virtualization, surveillance and multi-site collaboration workloads. Dual 10GbE RJ-45 ports and an out-of-band management LAN provide high-throughput connectivity.

Upgrade from Direct-Attached or Smaller NAS

This unit replaces slower direct-attached arrays or lower-bay appliances when sequential throughput above 6,300 MB/s read and 3,700 MB/s write is required. The jump is worth it for teams consolidating file services, backup targets and VM storage onto a single platform with redundant power supplies. Two PCIe Gen 4 x8 slots allow future 25GbE or Fibre Channel adapters as demand grows.
