The Synology RS826+ is a 1U rackmount network-attached storage system built for edge locations, remote offices and growing business environments. It ships fully assembled and tested with four drive bays populated by 8 TB Synology Plus drives for 32 TB of raw capacity. A Ryzen V1500B four-core processor and 32 GB of DDR4 ECC memory provide the compute headroom for file services, virtualization and backup workloads.

Thermals, noise and power in normal operation

The unit operates from a 100–240 VAC supply and is rated for ambient temperatures from 0 °C to 35 °C with humidity up to 95 % RH. Its 1U chassis uses internal airflow paths sized for the installed drives and processor, keeping fan noise at levels typical for rackmount equipment in a server room. Power draw scales with drive activity and network throughput but remains within the limits of a standard rack PDU.

Four-bay capacity with 10 GbE expansion

The RS826+ provides four 3.5-inch SATA bays pre-filled with 8 TB drives and a PCIe Gen3 slot occupied by a Synology two-port 10GBASE-T adapter. This combination fixes the maximum raw capacity at 32 TB and the peak wired throughput at 10 GbE unless the adapter is swapped for a 25 GbE card. Buyers who need more than four drive bays or higher native network speeds without a card change should consider a larger chassis.
