Storage capacity and headroom

Three factory-installed 1.2 TB SAS drives spin at 7.2K rpm and connect through a Perc H730 controller with 1 GB cache. The chassis accepts up to eight 2.5-inch hot-plug bays and the controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, so raw capacity can grow to 16 TB. Beyond that point the internal bays are exhausted and external enclosures become necessary.
