The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is a 2U rack server built around a single Intel Xeon E5-2670 v3 processor with twelve cores at 2.3 GHz. Four gigabytes of DDR4 ECC memory and two 600 GB 15 K SAS drives are installed. The Smart HBA H240ar controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Redundant 500 W hot-swap power supplies are included.

This unit replaces a tower server or a 1U system when more drive bays and memory slots are required. The jump is worth it when workloads need up to twenty-four DDR4 DIMM slots and eight 2.5-inch SAS bays with hardware RAID.
