Power adapter for RGB LED panels
This board sits between a power source and an RGB LED matrix panel. It accepts supply from a USB Type-C port or a DC-044 jack and distributes power to the panel through two VH-4P connectors. A PH2.0-4P header delivers 5 V and 3.3 V to an attached microcontroller. Onboard over-current and TVS devices protect the downstream circuitry.
Dual input capacity and limits
The Type-C input handles up to 5 V at 4 A while the DC-044 socket accepts up to 5 V at 8 A. Both inputs feed the same output rails so the higher-capacity DC jack provides headroom for larger panels. When the load exceeds the selected input rating the over-current protection activates. Builders needing more than 8 A must use a different power arrangement.
Thermals and power draw
No active cooling is fitted; the board relies on natural convection across the protection components. Under normal loads the adapter runs silently and adds minimal loss between the supply and the panel. Power draw matches the panel consumption plus the small quiescent current of the protection circuitry.
