Power adapter for RGB LED panels

This board sits between a power source and an RGB LED matrix panel. It accepts supply from a USB Type-C port or a DC-044 jack and distributes power to the panel through two VH-4P connectors. A PH2.0-4P header delivers 5 V and 3.3 V to an attached microcontroller. Onboard over-current and TVS devices protect the downstream circuitry.

Dual input capacity and limits

The Type-C input handles up to 5 V at 4 A while the DC-044 socket accepts up to 5 V at 8 A. Both inputs feed the same output rails so the higher-capacity DC jack provides headroom for larger panels. When the load exceeds the selected input rating the over-current protection activates. Builders needing more than 8 A must use a different power arrangement.

Thermals and power draw

No active cooling is fitted; the board relies on natural convection across the protection components. Under normal loads the adapter runs silently and adds minimal loss between the supply and the panel.
